Object-storage cost comparison
Checked 30 September 2026. USD monthly public pay-as-you-go list rates, without introductory promotions, free-tier credits or negotiated discounts. This is a storage-only reference case, not the complete infrastructure bill for an app.
The display models 1,000 GB of billable objects, labeled as 1 TB for this estimate. Provider billing-unit definitions, metering and rounding may differ. It is not a claim that a 1 TB logical SQLite database always occupies that amount in the bucket: compression, deduplication, metadata and retained revisions affect the physical footprint.
| Provider | Calculation used | Monthly storage estimate |
|---|---|---|
| IDrive e2 | Published $6/TB monthly tier, including the minimum | $6.00 |
| Wasabi | Published $7.99/TB monthly tier, including the minimum | $7.99 |
| Cloudflare R2 Standard | 1,000 × $0.015/GB-month | $15.00 |
| Amazon S3 Standard | 1,000 × $0.023/GB-month; US East (N. Virginia), first tier | $23.00 |
Material conditions
- IDrive e2: 1 TB minimum. No API-call charges or minimum object retention. Downloads up to three times active storage are included; above the allowance, the documented additional rate is $0.01/GB. The annual first-year promotion and separate Veeam/MSP pricing are excluded.
- Wasabi: monthly minimum and minimum storage-duration policies apply. Early deletion can leave billable deleted storage, which matters when revisions are collected frequently. The free-egress policy is intended for monthly downloads no larger than active storage; exceeding it can lead to limitations or suspension rather than a simple unlimited-free-download promise. Plan terms determine retention; check the specific account rather than assuming no charge.
- R2 Standard: operations are billed separately; egress is free. The chart excludes the free tier to compare list rates consistently.
- S3 Standard: requests and chargeable downloads are additional. The rate shown is for the first tier in US East (N. Virginia), not every region or storage class.
No additional API operations, billable downloads or early deletions are assumed in these bar values. potluckdb licensing, taxes, optional analytics compute and unrelated application services are excluded. No percentage saving against a managed database is claimed: that would need a like-for-like workload and service configuration.

Wasabi and IDrive e2 use the configurable S3-compatible endpoint route. Their support was confirmed by the project owner in this session; the inspected SDK exposes that route. This website work did not run live provider conformance tests.
